Jan Taylor is a freelance singer, actor, playwright, director and educator in the Edmonton performing arts scene.  Jan has always written plays and reviews for the theatre classes she teaches, but writing plays for the public is a new venture.  In 2004, she was commissioned by Concrete Theatre to create a piece (Baby Toothed) for their Sprouts Festival of New Plays for Children.  That year she also wrote, directed and produced the popular children's show Tales from a Laundry Basket for the Edmonton Fringe. Also in 2004, she was commissioned to write a set of reader's theatre pieces for college course. Currently she is working on a musical for young audiences about an alligator whose passion for the tango gets him into hot water, so to speak.
