Length: 50 mins
Total actors required: 7
Men: 3 or 4
Women: 4 or 3

Synopsis:
Faeries who speak in rhyme, an ogre who does magic tricks, a Marquis on a quest and of course a very clever cat; all contribute to give Puss In Boots a panto-style flavour in this version of the classic tale by Charles Perrault. Written with entertaining all ages in mind, this play has been well received by casts of adults and youth alike.

Production History:
Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Youth Tour; Spring 1999 Director: Lynn Eaton
Also produced by Carbondale New School (Grades 6 - 8) March 1999.

Notes:
Since this play was conceived with the British panto style in mind, gender bending the roles is part of the fun. The Queen could be played by a male just as easily as Puss could be (and was) played by a female. Audience participation is also built into the structure of the piece.
