YOUth Riot
Text reads “Youth Riot” on a black background with a rainbow heart.
Queer art. Queer space. Queer you.
A proud piece of APN’s programming, YOUth Riot is a place for creativity and community. Running eleven inspiring years. YOUth Riot is a FREE creative writing program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.
Originally conceived and presented with Third Street Theatre, and through the generous sponsorship of The Chinook Fund, APN has been proud to offer this FREE program to queer young people provincewide between the ages of 14 - 21.
Participants meet with guest artists who will help them learn creative writing skills. This is also a great opportunity to meet other queer youth while creating and imagining in a safe space. The program culminates in a weekend masterclass panel from prominent, national queer artists, as well as a showcase of participants’ work presented by professional actors and directors from the theatre community.**
